Role Overview
Uncharted Philanthropy is experiencing exciting growth and is looking to fill a Philanthropy Manager position. The Philanthropy Manager is a critical new position for our organization, responsible for
supporting and/or leading accounts among our esteemed portfolio of clients and executing various functions of consulting and fundraising for and with our clients. This unique role sits across frontline fundraising and consulting, offering an exciting opportunity for candidates that seek a dynamic work environment. We seek candidates who have experience with frontline fundraising and development team support. Frontline fundraising should include familiarity with high-net-worth individual solicitations, foundation grant writing, and / or charitable or cause-marketing corporate partnerships. Development team support might include helping leadership manage portfolios, developing strategic pitch material, custom donor research, and more. Past experience in consulting is a plus.
Our Philanthropy Manager will maintain a minimum of 80% of their time directly on client engagements. This means the ability and willingness to protect and represent our brand is significant. This is a high-profile, visible role. This position is directly under the C-Suite and comes with opportunities to partner with leadership in account and service design and more as the company grows.
The successful candidate will report directly to the COO and should be a proactive, savvy communicator and relationship builder with a positive, can-do attitude.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain relationships with UP clients (3-5 mid-size clients on average), many of whom we work directly with leadership
- Oversee delivery of work products, including donor research, donor communication, fundraising strategy, bespoke fundraising material, grants, and more
- Support UP leadership on large accounts (1-2) that require senior work production and strategy; Accountable for first drafts of deliverables
- Maintain flexibility when shifting from a consulting to implementation role
- Think critically and produce analyses that will help our clients make decisions
- Creatively produce new deliverables for clients and UP that are clean and ground in best practice
- Engage seamlessly with multiple clients that will likely be in different regions of the US or world, maintain distinct program expertise, and place emphasis on various revenue streams
- Support UP’s revenue target through quality client management

Qualifications
- Familiarity working directly for leadership
- Professional demeanor when interacting with clients and staff
- Proposal writing and donor stewardship
- Grant writing and experience with family foundations
- Six figure solicitation experience
- General knowledge of fundraising and philanthropy
- Proven success in meeting fundraising goals and supporting that of a team
- Creative, startup mindset with an appetite for upskilling and efficiency
- Integrity and drama-free
- Ability to build, navigate, and communicate complex philanthropic strategies
- Trusted confidant
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and positive, with strong teamwork and communication skills

Travel
- Dependent upon client needs.
Experience & Education
- 3+ years of experience in the philanthropy, social impact or consulting sectors
- Familiarity operating and upskilling with a variety of CRM systems and donor research tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
UP Perks
- Uncharted Philanthropy offers a 4-day work week and expects our staff to meet a minimum of 35 hours between Monday and Thursday.
- UP hosts one in-person gathering annually with staff and consultants in a location we decide together.

Pay & Benefits
- Salary range: $75,000 – $85,000
- 15 paid holidays per year
- 20 days PTO
